Similar to other shooting games you may have played before, primary weapons involve assault rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers, and a bunch of other two-handed (generally), long-range weaponry.

If you like chaining weapons, the Amprex can inflict statuses on a whole group of enemies. It's a little more ammo hungry than the Ignis Wraith, which is my preference for a Spray-and-Pray status inflictor.
For Pistols, the aksomati are really good, or the Atomos: not sure about their MR restriction though.
