We have a Trane XV80 gas furace. Heat comes on intermittently and not on command. Checked the panel. Red blinking light, flashes 7 times, pauses, repeats. Manual says gas detection sensor indicates gas in the air so it won't turn on. No gas in the air however. Its fairly new and all gas line are intact and tight. Morning all - Good news I had the 3 blinking lights and did the steps below to clear the issue. Clean the input pipe screen at the center of the unit where the PVC input pipe is. Lots of bug shells and junk clogging the input. Run some hot water into the output vent pipe to clear and ensure the drain pipes are good.Trane Xr80 - two units.
