At the time it was manufactured, there was no +P. It was designed to shoot .38 Special as it was made in the 1950's. As it is used I was curious if anyone knew when it was manufactured? I believe you can tell by the serial number if i've heard correctly. The serial number is CEM3832.8. S&W revolvers made before WWII use up to 6 numbers for the serial. During WWII, they used V or SV for the .38 S&W Special and .38 K-200 Victory revolvers. It appears to have been refinished but not by S&W at some point. A good cleaning and treatment for any rusting and it should make a good shooter.
