The XD Mod.2 Tactical’s trigger broke at an average of 5.14 pounds while the Glock 21 SF’s averaged 5.78 pounds. Despite the lighter weight, the trigger on the Springfield required a bit of travel even after resistance was met. It felt like stretching a rubber band to its limit before it broke, though it was a very smooth pull.

It draws back the striker, disengages the striker safety, and releases the striker. The XDm trigger is single action. Only downsides to the XD [was] the finish that wore off, no extended slide releases (which is only needed for us lefties), and the fact that the IDPA crew doesn't think it's a Service Pistol due to it's trigger internals. The 19 is a bit smaller than the XD9 Service in the frame for one. I ended up selling the Glock as the XD fits my hands better. With the 19 I was constantly cutting my hand on the magwell while inserting mags. The Glock 17 is 7.32 x 5.43. The Glock 34 is 8.15 x 5.43. The XD subcompact is 6.25 x 4.75. The XD service is 7.3 x 5.50. The XD tactical is 8.30 x 5.50. The glock 19 is not that much larger than an XD subcompact. It fits in as a compact between a subcompact and a service model. Same old answer then, buy what you like.
I shot the XD terrifically, especially as a newbie. I noted the features on the XD that were lacking on the Glock (ambi mag release, grip safety, chamber loaded indicator, striker-cocked indicator). And I went w/ the XD. I couldn't see paying more and getting less. The 21`s grip was/is too large for my comfort. I am 6`1 with large hands, I bought the XD Tact. I shot the Glock .45, 9mm and 10mm and the .45 and 10 were a little large for my hands. Another reason why I prefer glocks over XD's. I don't own an XDSC, but between my 19 and XD9 service, the XD has more muzzle flip. I have yet to find any concrete evidence that the Glock 19 is more reliable than the Mod.2, or many other modern polymer wonder guns. I'm not knocking the 19. But I do see competitive alternatives that have been just as reliable as the 19 to say the least.

I have shot thousands of rounds through it without the first bobble.
