Small maps are better for domination and religious civs (in Civ 6), as there's fewer civs you need to conquer/convert to win. Large maps are better for scientific civs as more civs mean more options for research agreements. Cultural civs in Civ 5 generally perform better on smallish maps, as there's less competition for wonders.

i got a rockstar pc. The Maps are not the Problem. The Problem is the Number of Civs and City States and the such. The bigger Maps need more RAM, that is the main problem. You can make it more stable by deactivating animated leaders. And don't use the fucking launcher to get into the game.
