Clip removed, you can now take the unit out of your vice or c-clamp, do not drop the accumulator it will want to fall off so hold on to it. Pull the accumulator off and let the extra fluid drain out. Then put the accumulator aside for now.

thx997303. Actually, it seems that the zf5 uses a bell housing adapter to connect to the IDI, but the zf6 doesn't use one to connect to the powerstroke. I'll see if I can't dig up a pic. The bell housing bolt patterns are the same. Though it looks like the zf6 may be larger around the rest of the transmission.Turning up the fuel really requires not special tools at all. Just remove the cover on the IP gear housing and get the dowel at 12 O'clock. Remove the cover of the passenger's side of the IP and use a 5/32 allen to turn the screw clockwise. BUT, YOU GOTTA HAVE A PYRO FIRST.
I've used both the FTC Decarboniser and the flushing concentrate before. Once on a 88 Toyota 75 series land cruiser with a 2H diesel and the other on a later model 75 series with a 1HZ diesel motor. Cheap pensacola-type rebuilds are not matched, and fail very quickly.
