Prius red triangle no codes.
IIRC it is referring to the emergency brake (the one with the small lever in the leftmost area of the footwell). It only makes sense because if the computer detects and issue with the parking pawl, it cannot be sure that the car will not roll away. Thus, the emergency brake would need to be applied.
A 2005 Prius came our way, dead 12v battery. Jumped it properly and drove to the non profit, (red triangle came on during the trip, no codes on el-cheapo OBD2). Removed 12v battery to charge and test, won't charge. Replaced it with a aftermarket battery from O'riellys.I am now having a problem with a 2002 Prius that I would like some input on. The Red Triangle of Death appears only after cold starts. After the car is turned on, the code appears after about 30 seconds. It disappears after normal driving for about an hour (assuming the car is restarted several times to reset the code).I ran codes, did dr prius battery test (parked because it wouldn't drive which said 74% life) and didn't learn much… obd threw odd codes that led me no where in google. I eventually just cleared the codes and put the 12v on a trickle charge for 12 hours and got it to a green holding charge when tested with my harbor freight battery tester.To answer some questions. The issue happens when the HV battery bars are at any point. Two bars to full bars. The issue occurs when there is heavy acceleration. The cars accelerates fine to a point and the there is a lack of power and the triangle and problem message occur. Just today the temp icon came up on the MFD.The "death" triangle might indicate that you need a new 12V battery. A new battery fixed my problem on my old 2008. YouTube has instructions how to do it.
