Any other wires that are on those terminals go to either an idle stabilizer or an "advance" module. The only 3 things that would do that is. 1. the stop circuit, which you ruled out by disconnecting the black/yellow wire. 2. the stator, which you will go test. 3 The switchboxes, which are not testable. When trying to figure out a no spark on all situation it is a process of elimination. You start with the stop circuit, move on to the stator.

It looks like it's getting fuel, but not firing above a certain RPM. A stuck float needle won't let it idle. A leaking float needle won't let it idle. My 1986 Mercury 150 XR2 Black Max cranks up and runs but when I put in the water it will not go the engine will die. I checked the fire and 3 cylinders are not firing.
