The rattler upper receiver has a slightly shorter rail than the virtus/spear and I wanted all the parts to be comparable. 6.75 is - but quieter but with more gas to the face. Accuracy is similar at home defense ranges. The 9 will have better velocity and a bit further reach.

Virtus barrels are slightly heavier, and the 16" 5.56 needs heavy ammo to group well - doesn't like 55g at all! These barrels are expensive, and if you can find them - you'll probably get a much better deal on legacy ...An integrally suppressed upper receiver group based on the MCX was selected by USSOCOM for the SURG (Suppressed Upper Receiver Group) contract in July 2018.
