Sadly you got a bug. There is an option when talking to Johnny (I think it’s the second option) and if you pick that you get the relic malfunction for the rest of the game. There is no fix right now except to go back before you picked it. This also happened to meI won't spoil the endings here, but I will say that after you beat the game you can continue playing the game from before you played the final mission.
