Being in a Mek does allow the players themselves to avoid damage from the poison trees the Forest Titan spawns, but even a Mek will start to lose a lot of health passively while the fight drags on. The Mek Pistol can clear poison trees if needed as well.

Saddles are more important then the stats when it comes to megatherium in broodmother arena. I used imprinted megas, hatch stats had under 400 melee. Official settings. They took down alpha. Its likely the boss does not scale well with the max dino level multiplier left at the default setting. (keep in mind that the broodmother starts out with 324000 HP at level 1, and gains 64800 HP per level.
