My living room was built such that above the fireplace is about the only place the TV can go. So for the last few years since I moved in my TV has been too high. Today I replaced the mount and I believe I have repented from my TV placement sins, but Reddit saw fit to serve me up this group for the first time today anyway.

Bedroom TVs are different, you can put them a bit higher and still have a comfortable viewing position. Often with led TVs you’re going to end up with a washed out picture if you do that, though, as they often have poor viewing angles. And it can still be too high.
