The drop rate, despite being common on master difficulty is not that common. It can take several runs before you can actually get an exotic item to drop. I've been running legendary lost sectors in order to get some exotics in my collection and noticed that almost nothing will drop. I read somewhere that legendary chances are ~25% and master are ~35%. They had several dry runs exceeding 30 lost sectors in a row with no exotic drop. So sometimes, you just get very unlucky. Those 3 being Caliban's, Renewal, and Athrys'. Needless to say, after 35 MASTER runs, ALL PLATINUM, I got exactly ONE, ONE!!! of those three exotic arms, calibans. ...Say you get one rune each time you complete a lost sector and don't get an exotic--maybe two if you don't die. Each one increases your drop chance by 10% when slotted in, except for number seven which guarantees a drop on your next completion. But any in your belt get wiped out whenever an exotic piece drops.

I can assure you, it is not a common chance. Please buff the drop chance, in general, or just for platinum rewards. No need to over exaggerate mate, Before the buff to the drop rates they were 25% for Legend and Master was 33%. It's pretty much impossible you went 48 runs without a single drop, even 10 runs without a drop is very unlikely. That said I'm not 100% sure you can even get the older exotics the first time from lost sectors

The only good part is that there is a really high chance you will receive new gear. I feel like the drop rate is super buffed for the lost sector exclusive gear. I got most of them within 2 run each. They should maybe remove the timer or revive limit though just for the more casual players.

So technically not impossible, but either it's somehow bugged, has some sort of hidden lockout mechanic, or you're full of shit.
