I run FFXI through lutris instead of steam. I followed the instructions on Windower's website for installing XI on Linux via Lutris, and it was painless. After swaping to the proper version of Wine, I ran the FFXI Config tool and enabled Xinput in the gamepad configuration. I can use the Deck's controls or my Bluetooth controller.
