Devotions are self explanatory. Synergize with skills and specific procs. Gear is self explanatory as well. Synergize elements, procs, damage conversion. Get some resists through gear and the rest through augments. #3.
The craziness comes with the DLC’s which add lots of gear and some end game mobs. That being said, Shaman with Wendigo Totem is potent. It damages in an area and heals you when it does.
