Hit up a clothing store and remove all the dye form stuff you find, and hit up book stores whenever you come across them. I like to go farmer, but laborer is also really good. I would get your class skills going and then grab some general skills. I like to grab sexual trex, melee/weapon choice, etc. health nut is also pretty good.

Darkness Falls has wandering hordes as well as tougher enemies, so you cant really go guns blazing at the start like you can in vanilla. So again use the hunter class to help stealth through trader missions to get some good starting coin.Same goes with your initial base. A horde rocks up, run away, then return and either pick them off as they start dispersing, or wait longer and they will have despawned. Also, remember to make sure your XP gain is not too high for DF.
