The chalice of blood is among my favourites after chains and hourglass. It offers so much HP regeneration that you'll never use health-giving resources as a result of attrition, nor burn through food or lullaby scrolls. It makes food management indirectly easier to do by effectively increasing how much healing you get out of every bit of food.
