You have to modify the exhaust slightly and replace the upper brace. Its about a 30-40% HP increase.

I solved my problem,i will never buy another deere again. Parts prices are outrageous, and no aftermarket support. Good thing is there is plenty of options, i had plenty of lawn mower issues that drove me nuts, solved that by buying a SCAG. To be honest the clutch is my main gripe with it, and how tight it is in the engine compartment .

The problem was that the primary clutch rollers had developed a flat spot on one side that restricted the movement of the clutch spider and hence the inability to completely disengage. The rollers are not available from John Deere; instead, they want you to buy the whole spider assembly to the tune of $130 or so.
