I just bought the truck about two days ago. I heard a car alarm go off in the middle of the night, I didn’t think anything of it. However, I decided to check my phone later about thirty minutes later and I see that the onstar system had alerted me that my car an alarm had gone off and that a theft was attempted.
A couple days ago my wife needed in it while I was at work. She used a key that was cut to fit, but will not start the car. The the theft light in the dash stays on, and it displays "service theft deterrent system", "theft attempted" in the DIC. The message goes away when I push the button, but it comes back every time I start the car.Attempted Theft.
