Is the Predator 212 engine worth it? I'll give my opinion based on nearly a decade of ownership.

For a stock predator 212, a stock clutch is good enough for racing purposes and is much cheaper than a racing clutch. The major downside of using a torque converter for racing is that it limits the high-end rpm and there is a lot of power loss due to belt slippage in CVT (or any belt drive in general). Letting off completely doesn't let the carb freely close back up. If that Predator is a 212cc then a .036 jet is a good hotrod jet for it, same thing I'm running. You also need to replace the low jet when you put in the .036, or it'll have all kinds of trouble. If you don't mind spending a bit more the Ducar 212 is available. It's a hemi engine and it comes with a PVL flywheel on it stock. The governor is also set much higher than the Predator.
