When they reemerged, they were branded under two names; H&R 1871, Inc. (official title of the new company) and New England Firearms (the working title for the new company while paperwork was being filled out).

I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on this piece. Its my first gun so I would really like to know something about it. The .32 S&W Long was introduced in 1896, 10 years after this revolver was made. H&R had their own version of the Long, but dropped it years later in favor of the more popular S&W Long. Feb 12, 2014 · Well, I'm not up on the H&R's, but with no caliber markings it would be dated before 1905 and manufactured for black powder. Yeppers.. If it doesn't have a caliber marking it is a 1st Model - made between 1888-1904. If it has a caliber marking it is a 2nd Model - made between 1905-1941. Welcome to the forum. I have NO knowledge of a .22 cal. shotgun produced by H&R - not saying that there wasn't an example or more of a smooth bore .22 made by them. The serial number is really of no help with the ID or age of such a firearm. We're going to need full posting of any and all markings on the gun and where they're located.H&R 32 Safety Hammer.
