I love my Daniel Boone, but I have the same problem. However I found an easy fix. The auger doesn't initiate during the 0-1-2-3 startup. Happens to me everytime. Just turn it on like normal, wait until it gets to step 1. Then unplug the 12v power cable from back. Plug it back in. Then turn it on again.
