The CPU won't be bottlenecked by the motherboard, it'll either work or it won't, though some really crappy motherboards have VRMs that can't handle the power draw of higher-end CPUs. The Tomahawk MAX isn't one of those crappy boards though. Not many games are going to max out the 6 cores on the 5600X, and benefit from the 12 cores on the 5900X.

Hi -- I am considering MSI B450 Tomahawk Max with the Ryzen 5 3600 CPU. It was my understanding that the mobo is out-of-the-box compatible with the cpu. However, on pc partpicker, the parts do not seem to be compatible and I will have to update the BIOS.
