I agree that the USN or IJN cruiser lines are the best up to T7. Once you get there, you can try the USN CL line (which is kind of fragile, like the UK cruiser line) or try the USN Fast BB line (Colorado to North Carolina). After a few hundred games in those, or whenever you hit T10 you can look at trying a new line.

The cruiser line is so so so meh. Königsberg/Nürnberg are just floating citadels, the Yorck and Hipper can be absolute fun ships to play although they can be so insanely useless. Roon is really exhausting to grind and the Hindenburg, while actually a nice ship, got powercrept to hell and is not much fun to play anymore. 2.
