BCM could specify a slightly different steel, newer mandrels with shorter runs, machine cut chambers as opposed to HF chambers, a somewhat different rifling, more precise threading, different heat treat, more this or that, it's really all conjecture.

Non-CHF button rifled barrels will begin to open up at 3k rounds and really start to drop at 6K rounds, so a couple weekend courses where 1,000 ammo boxes are required will run down a non-CHF barrel in 2-3 years.
