2019 chevy colorado temperature gauge not working.
If the thermostat is not working at this particular rate, too fast or too slow to open, the ——— will show as the temperature reading. This is apparently something GM did with the Cobalt and several other vehicles of this era. I guess it could be this, but it will show the dashes from startup and never show a temp.

Most recently my temp gauge was all the way down and the engine fans were blowing on full blast. After a few days everything seemingly went back to normal.The temp gauge fluctuates from normal (185-200) jumps to 250-270 than immediately back to normal. My Banks confirms the temp change. I replaced the temp sender, coolant tank cap, and have disconnected the EGR plug with no changes. It happens at part throttle with a slight load. I am starting this thread because you have to go through a lot of posts to get where I am. The problems (many models have it): 1) My 2015 Yukon Denali’s engine temperature gauge intermittently reads zero and the cooling fans come on where the computer assumes the sensor has failed so the car goes into a protective safe mode …If the BCM get odd voltages (spikes or drops) it will make the instrument cluster act wierd. Double check any stereo wires if you installed an aftermarket HU and check the battery terminals to make sure they are tight. If all checks out, have the battery load tested. A bad battery can cause the same problems.

One way to "reset" the outdoor temp sensor is to push the A/C button and the recirculate button at the same time. This button sequence should work as it works on my 07. Let me know if it does. No information about your truck, but if you have a manual transmission there is also a clutch position switch that deactivates the Cruise Control.Just finished installing 7 new stepper motors to my gauge cluster. My speedometer hasn't worked for probably 2 years. The dealer wanted over $500 to fix. I found the stepper motors on e-bay and purchased replacement lights as well. It takes a good soldering iron and a solder sucker tool you can buy at Radio Shack.
